Description
These Sausage Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sliders with Syrup Glaze are the perfect combination of savory and sweet, all packed into a delicious slider. Great for breakfast or brunch gatherings!
Ingredients
Hawaiian Rolls:
- 12 hawaiian rolls
Breakfast Sausage:
- 16 ounces breakfast sausage
Eggs:
- 6 large eggs
Colby Jack Cheese:
- 4 ounces Colby jack cheese (slices)
Additional:
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350˚F.
- Crack and scramble the eggs.
- To make the syrup glaze,
- Cut the slider rolls in half horizontally.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the sliders are hot and the cheese is melted.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook breakfast sausage, crumbling with the spoon or spatula as it is stirred. Once done, remove the sausage from the pan. Optional: let it drain on a paper towel lined plate.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low in the skillet and pour the eggs in. Allow to cook over low heat, covered, until the eggs set. Fold the edges in to form a rectangle and remove from heat.
whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup in a small bowl.
Layer on the eggs, sausage, and cheese slices. Then place the tops of the rolls back on. Use a serrated knife to cut between each sandwich, then brush the syrup glaze over the top of the rolls.
