Maple Garlic Bacon Chicken Delight is a sweet and savory skillet dish featuring juicy chicken breasts seared to golden perfection, coated in a rich maple garlic sauce, and topped with crispy halal beef or turkey bacon. This quick, flavorful, and family-friendly recipe balances smoky, sweet, and garlicky flavors for a restaurant-quality meal that’s easy to prepare on busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices halal beef bacon or turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Maple Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides evenly with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to ensure flavorful and well-browned meat.
  2. Cook the Bacon: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the halal beef bacon or turkey bacon slices and cook until crispy. Remove bacon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat, then crumble into bite-sized pieces. Reserve about one tablespoon of the bacon drippings in the skillet or use olive oil for cooking the chicken.
  3. Sear the Chicken: Add olive oil to the skillet (along with the reserved bacon drippings if using). Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and set aside.
  4. Make the Maple Garlic Sauce Base: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Melt the unsalted butter in the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant but not browned, building a flavorful base for the sauce.
  5. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and dried thyme. Pour this mixture into the skillet with the garlic and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the maple garlic sauce over each piece. Simmer everything together for another 3–4 minutes so the chicken absorbs the rich flavors of the sauce.
  7. Add Bacon and Garnish: Sprinkle the crispy crumbled halal beef or turkey bacon evenly over the chicken. Finish by scattering the chopped fresh parsley on top. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Pat the chicken dry before seasoning for better browning and crust.
  • Use pure maple syrup instead of pancake syrup for authentic flavor.
  • Fresh minced garlic provides a richer and more aromatic sauce than garlic powder.
  • Let the chicken rest for five minutes after cooking to keep it juicy.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of chicken broth to loosen it.
  • Boneless chicken thighs can be used as an alternative for juicier results.
  • Optional additions: sliced mushrooms, a splash of heavy cream for creaminess, or crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Substitute parsley with fresh rosemary or thyme if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat or microwave until warmed through.
