Ingredients
Scale
For the drink
- Crushed ice, as needed
- 1–2 medium limes, thinly sliced
- 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained, syrup reserved
- 1 cup (8–10 limes) lime juice, chilled
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar, superfine
- 1 bottle (2 liters) lemon-lime soda, chilled
Instructions
- Prepare glasses: Fill each glass with crushed ice to chill and provide a refreshing base for the limeade.
- Add fruit garnishes: Place lime slices and a few maraschino cherries into each glass for flavor and decoration.
- Mix lime juice and sugar: In a large pitcher, combine the chilled lime juice with superfine granulated sugar, stirring well until the sugar completely dissolves to create a sweet and tangy base.
- Add lemon-lime soda: Slowly pour the chilled lemon-lime soda into the pitcher with the lime juice mixture, gently stirring to combine without losing carbonation.
- Assemble drinks: Pour the limeade mixture over the ice-filled glasses, then drizzle some of the reserved cherry syrup over the top to add extra sweetness and a lovely color.
Notes
- Use superfine sugar for quicker dissolving in the lime juice.
- Chilling the lime juice and soda beforehand keeps the drink extra refreshing without watering it down with ice melting too quickly.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your desired sweetness.
- For a fizzy alternative, use sparkling water instead of lemon-lime soda.
