  • Author: Lila
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This refreshing Cherry Limeade recipe combines the tartness of fresh lime juice with the sweetness of maraschino cherries and lemon-lime soda. Perfect for warm days, this quick and easy drink is both vibrant and flavorful, served chilled over crushed ice with a garnish of lime slices and cherries.

Ingredients

Scale

For the drink

  • Crushed ice, as needed
  • 12 medium limes, thinly sliced
  • 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained, syrup reserved
  • 1 cup (810 limes) lime juice, chilled
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar, superfine
  • 1 bottle (2 liters) lemon-lime soda, chilled

Instructions

  1. Prepare glasses: Fill each glass with crushed ice to chill and provide a refreshing base for the limeade.
  2. Add fruit garnishes: Place lime slices and a few maraschino cherries into each glass for flavor and decoration.
  3. Mix lime juice and sugar: In a large pitcher, combine the chilled lime juice with superfine granulated sugar, stirring well until the sugar completely dissolves to create a sweet and tangy base.
  4. Add lemon-lime soda: Slowly pour the chilled lemon-lime soda into the pitcher with the lime juice mixture, gently stirring to combine without losing carbonation.
  5. Assemble drinks: Pour the limeade mixture over the ice-filled glasses, then drizzle some of the reserved cherry syrup over the top to add extra sweetness and a lovely color.

Notes

  • Use superfine sugar for quicker dissolving in the lime juice.
  • Chilling the lime juice and soda beforehand keeps the drink extra refreshing without watering it down with ice melting too quickly.
  • You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your desired sweetness.
  • For a fizzy alternative, use sparkling water instead of lemon-lime soda.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled to serve more guests.
