Ingredients
Scale
Strawberry Syrup
- 2/3 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup white grape juice
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
Frappuccino
- 1 cup ice
- 2/3 cup milk (whole milk recommended for creaminess)
- 1/8 tsp xanthan gum
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberry syrup: In a small or medium saucepan, combine the white grape juice, strawberries, and granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Simmer and mash: Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 8 minutes. Use a spoon to occasionally mash the strawberries to release their juices and infuse the syrup with rich strawberry flavor.
- Blend and chill the syrup: Transfer the mixture to a tall measuring cup and blend it using an immersion blender or a regular blender until smooth. Place the syrup in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the frappuccino.
- Make the frappuccino base: In a high-speed blender, combine the milk, ice, xanthan gum, and all but 2 tablespoons of the chilled strawberry syrup. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the frappuccino: Pour the reserved 2 tablespoons of strawberry syrup into the bottom of a tall glass. Slowly pour the blended frappuccino mixture over the syrup to create a layered effect.
- Top and serve: Finish the drink by generously topping it with whipped cream. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Starbucks-style Strawberry Creme Frappuccino!
Notes
- You can use fresh or frozen strawberries for the syrup; frozen works well year-round.
- Xanthan gum helps thicken the frappuccino and improve texture; if unavailable, you can omit it, but the texture will be slightly less creamy.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond, oat, or soy milk.
- The grape juice adds a subtle sweetness and balances the tartness of the strawberries.
- Adjust sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of your strawberries.
- Chilling the strawberry syrup beforehand is recommended to keep the frappuccino cold and refreshing.
