  • Author: Lila
  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: About 16 pieces 1x

Description

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this Mint Chocolate Bark featuring a smooth dark chocolate base swirled with vibrant green-tinted peppermint-infused white chocolate. Topped with crushed peppermint candies, this festive treat is easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Dark Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped

Mint White Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring, a few drops

Topping

  • Crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and allow easy removal once set.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: Place 12 oz of chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Pour this melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to form a base layer.
  3. Melt White Chocolate and Add Mint: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt 12 oz of chopped white chocolate using the same 30-second interval method, stirring until smooth. Once melted, stir in 1 teaspoon peppermint extract and add a few drops of green food coloring, mixing until you achieve the desired shade of green.
  4. Create Marbled Effect: Pour the green peppermint white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer. Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the two chocolates together, creating a beautiful marbled pattern.
  5. Add Toppings: Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies or candy canes evenly over the top of the swirled chocolate layers for added crunch and festive decoration.
  6. Set the Bark: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for 1-2 hours or until the chocolate is fully set and firm.
  7. Serve: Once set, break the bark into about 16 pieces and serve as a festive St. Patrick’s Day treat.

Notes

  • Use good quality chocolates for the best flavor and texture.
  • If you don’t have green food coloring, you can omit it or try natural alternatives like matcha powder.
  • Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
  • Be careful not to overheat the chocolate in the microwave to prevent burning.
  • Feel free to experiment with different toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles.
