Description
This Pomegranate Pistachio Chocolate Bark is a stunning and delicious treat combining rich dark and white chocolate with the vibrant crunch of pistachios and juicy bursts of pomegranate arils. Perfect for gifting or snacking, this easy-to-make bark involves melting, layering, and swirling chocolates, topped with fresh ingredients for a perfect balance of flavor and texture.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate
- 10 oz good quality dark chocolate (preferably melting wafers or finely chopped bar)
- 10 oz good quality white chocolate (preferably melting wafers or finely chopped bar)
Toppings
- 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Line a quarter sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and to allow easy removal once set.
- Melt Chocolate: Place the dark and white chocolates in separate microwave-safe bowls. Microwave each for 30 seconds, stir, then continue microwaving in 20-second bursts, stirring thoroughly each time until completely melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolates using a double boiler.
- Spread Dark Chocolate: Pour most of the melted dark chocolate onto the lined pan, reserving a few spoonfuls. Evenly spread the chocolate out to the edges of the parchment paper.
- Add White Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the spread dark chocolate layer, covering it evenly.
- Create Swirls: Drizzle the reserved dark chocolate on top of the white chocolate layer. Use a toothpick or skewer to gently drag through the layers, forming beautiful swirled patterns.
- Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle the pomegranate arils and finely chopped pistachios evenly over the top so they adhere before the chocolate sets.
- Set and Break: Refrigerate the chocolate bark for 30-45 minutes or until fully set. Once firm, break the bark into shards by hand or with a knife.
- Storage: Store the chocolate bark in the refrigerator to maintain its freshness, texture, and prevent melting.
Notes
- Use good quality chocolates for the best flavor and smooth melting.
- You can substitute pistachios with other nuts like almonds or walnuts if preferred.
- Ensure to add the toppings immediately after swirling the chocolate to help them stick well.
- If you don’t have a microwave, melt the chocolates gently over a double boiler to avoid burning.
- Keep bark refrigerated, especially in warm climates, to prevent melting and maintain crisp texture.
