For the beef:
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the veggies:
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 green bell peppers, diced
- 8 mushrooms, diced
For topping:
- 4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Brown ground beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain fat, then add beef broth and worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook veggies: Add olive oil to the skillet. Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms for 5-6 minutes until softened. Return the beef to the skillet and combine.
- Assemble: Divide the mixture into bowls or leave in the skillet. Top with provolone cheese to melt. Serve as is or on buns for a traditional touch.
