Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Cake Balls featuring crushed Oreos blended with cream cheese, coated in smooth white candy melts. Perfect as a bite-sized dessert or party treat, these no-bake cake balls combine creamy, crunchy, and sweet flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake Balls

  • 24 Oreos
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese

For the Coating

  • 10 oz white candy melts (Ghirardelli brand recommended)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (optional, only if candy melts need thinning)

Instructions

  1. Mix Oreos and cream cheese: Place 24 whole Oreos into a food processor and blend on high speed until they turn into a coarse powder. Add 4 oz softened cream cheese and pulse again until the mixture forms a smooth, uniform dough.
  2. Shape the cake balls: Remove the blades and scrape off extra dough back inside. Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop out portions then shape the dough into tight balls with your hands. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for 15 minutes.
  3. Melt the candy melts: Melt 10 oz white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. If necessary, thin the coating with up to 2 tbsp hot heavy cream, though Ghirardelli candy melts often do not require thinning.
  4. Dip the cake balls: Using a fork, dip each frozen cake ball into the melted candy melts, ensuring a full coating. Transfer coated balls back onto parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the coating to set.
  5. Optional decoration: While the coating is still wet, drizzle with melted semi-sweet chocolate or sprinkle crushed Oreos on top for added texture and visual appeal. Let set completely before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened at room temperature for easy blending.
  • Freezing the shaped balls helps the candy coating stick better.
  • If candy melts are too thick, add heavy cream gradually to avoid over-thinning.
  • Store cake balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Use a fork to dip to avoid fingerprints and keep the coating smooth.
