Longhorn Steakhouse Parmesan Chicken Recipe

  • Author: Lila
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A deliciously crispy and cheesy Parmesan Chicken inspired by Longhorn Steakhouse, featuring breaded and pan-fried chicken breasts topped with a flavorful blend of Parmesan, mozzarella, and garlic, then finished in the oven to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for breading mix)

Topping

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (to top the chicken)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Other

  • Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken after frying.
  2. Prepare dredging stations: In three separate bowls, place flour in the first, beat together eggs and milk in the second, and combine bread crumbs with half of the Parmesan cheese in the third.
  3. Coat chicken: Dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, then dip into the egg and milk mixture, and finally coat evenly with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture.
  4. Pan-fry chicken: Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Top and bake: Transfer the fried chicken breasts to a baking dish. Evenly sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan, shredded mozzarella cheese, and minced garlic on top.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • Using olive oil instead of butter adds a healthier fat option and crisp texture.
  • Make sure chicken breasts are pounded to even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • You can substitute bread crumbs with panko for extra crunch.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to retain juices.
  • Serve with a side of pasta or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
