Description

This Garlicky Sweet Thai Chili Chicken & Green Beans Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful dish combining tender chicken breast strips with crisp green beans, all tossed in a garlicky, sweet Thai chili sauce. Perfect for a healthy weeknight meal, it delivers a delightful balance of savory, spicy, and slightly tangy flavors with a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips

Vegetables

  • 8 ounces green beans, trimmed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Sauce & Seasonings

  • 1/3 cup sweet Thai chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Others

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet Thai chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Heat the Pan: Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil, allowing it to get hot but not smoking.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken strips to the skillet and stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is lightly browned and nearly cooked through.
  4. Add Green Beans: Push the chicken to one side of the pan, add the trimmed green beans, and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the beans turn bright green and are tender-crisp.
  5. Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and green beans. Stir well to coat everything evenly and continue cooking for 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the chicken to finish cooking.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the stir fry, remove from heat, and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the red pepper flakes or add fresh sliced chili peppers.
  • You can substitute chicken breast with chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
  • To make this gluten-free, use tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
  • Serve this stir fry over steamed rice or noodles to make it a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated gently on the stovetop.
