- 2 1/4 tsp Instant Quick Rise Yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 3 1/2 cups Bread Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
Boiling Bath:
- 6–8 cups Boiling Water
- 1 tbsp Baking Soda
- 1 tbsp Honey
Egg Wash and Topping:
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 tbsp Water
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
Instructions
- Mix – In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy.
- Knead – Add flour and salt, mix until dough forms. Knead until smooth. Let rise.
- Prep – Preheat oven. Prep baking sheet.
- Cut – Divide dough, shape into balls.
- Shape – Roll into balls, create holes. Let rest.
- Prep – Prepare baking soda and honey bath. Mix egg wash.
- Boil – Boil bagels in baking soda honey bath.
- Brush and Bake – Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with seasoning. Bake until golden.
- Enjoy – Cool and enjoy homemade bagels!
Notes
- You can customize toppings like sesame seeds or poppy seeds instead of Everything Bagel Seasoning.
- For a sweeter option, add cinnamon and raisins to the dough.
