Bruschetta Dip Recipe

  • Author: Lila
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Bruschetta Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make Italian appetizer that transforms the classic bruschetta topping into a creamy spread. Soft herbed cheese topped with fresh tomatoes, chopped basil, and a balsamic glaze reduction creates a flavorful and elegant antipasto perfect for serving with pita chips, crackers, or thinly sliced baguette. Ideal for gatherings and quick snacks, this dip combines fresh ingredients with a smooth, creamy base for a crowd-pleasing starter.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 6.5 oz Alouette Cheese with herbs or other soft cheese spread like Boursin
  • ½ cup tomatoes, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons balsamic glaze or reduction
  • Pita chips, crackers, or thinly sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Base: Spread the soft herbed cheese evenly over the center of a large, clean, and dry plate or small platter, leaving about a ¼ inch border around the edge.
  2. Add Tomatoes: Chop the tomatoes into small pieces and evenly sprinkle them over the top of the cheese layer to create a fresh and colorful topping.
  3. Add Fresh Basil: Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them evenly over the tomatoes to add an aromatic and vibrant flavor.
  4. Drizzle Balsamic Glaze: Drizzle the prepared balsamic glaze in a crisscross pattern over the entire cheese and tomato topping. Use the glaze sparingly, as a little goes a long way. The glaze should be thick, not runny.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with pita chips, crackers, or thin slices of baguette. This dip can also be served as a spread on crackers for an easy and tasty appetizer.

Notes

  • Use Alouette cheese for a creamy texture; Boursin is a suitable alternative.
  • Do not substitute balsamic glaze with straight balsamic vinegar, as vinegar is too thin and will not provide the desired texture.
  • Best served fresh, but leftovers keep well and taste even better the next day.
  • Perfect for parties, game day snacks, or quick appetizer options.
  • Trader Joe’s balsamic glaze is highly recommended but any balsamic reduction glaze can be used.
