For the Bread:
- 2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- ⅔ cup white sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 6 cups bread flour
Instructions
- Dissolve Sugar and Activate Yeast: In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then add yeast. Let proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
- Mix and Knead: Add salt and oil to yeast. Add flour one cup at a time. Knead on a floured surface until smooth.

- Shape and Second Rise: Punch down dough. Knead a few minutes and divide in half. Shape into loaves and place in two 9×5 inch greased loaf pans. Let rise 30 minutes or until dough is 1 inch above pans.
- Bake and Cool: Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Let cool in pans 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
